Tool: Sponsor evaluation

Typical use (type of issue/project)

At the early stages of your project when you are selecting a sponsor.

Ease of use rating

Used by

Yourself as the project manager.

Tips for effective use

Do not show the output of the evaluation to anyone outside your immediate project team. If you feel your sponsor is not going to help you complete your project (in other words, because they do not have the proper organisational power), look to gain the support of another sponsor.

Signals of successful use

Understanding your project sponsor and their strengths and weaknesses.

Signals of unsuccessful use

Becoming overambitious with your project and are unable to implement it because you were unaware that you did not have the proper support.
